Privacy Policy

FirstTake ("the app", "we", "us") is a teleprompter and camera recording app developed by Outside. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
Short version: FirstTake keeps your content on your device. We do not run servers that store your scripts or videos, we do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
Content you create (stored only on your device)
Scripts you write are stored locally on your device.
Videos you record are saved to your device's storage / gallery.
This content never leaves your device through FirstTake. We have no server that receives, stores, or has access to your scripts or recordings.
Camera and microphone
FirstTake uses your device camera and microphone only while you are recording or rehearsing, to capture the video you choose to make. The feed is processed on-device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
Purchases and subscriptions
When you buy FirstTake Premium, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing. To manage entitlements and restore purchases across devices, we use RevenueCat, a billing infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated user ID and the purchase/transaction details needed to validate your subscription status. RevenueCat may also process limited technical data (for example IP address, device model, and OS version) to provide and secure the billing service. It does not receive your name, email, scripts, or videos.

Security
Data shared with RevenueCat and Google is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
We do not collect your name, email address, or contacts.
We do not collect analytics, location, or advertising identifiers.
We do not upload your scripts or videos anywhere.
We do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
Camera — to record video.
Microphone — to record audio with your video.
Storage (Android 9 and below only) — to save recordings to your gallery.
You can revoke these permissions anytime in your device settings; some features will stop working without them.
FirstTake is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Depending on your region (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete data held about you. Since FirstTake stores content only on your device and shares only a pseudonymous ID with RevenueCat, you can exercise these by deleting your content/app or by contacting us. To request deletion of purchase data held by RevenueCat, contact us and we will relay the request.
Your scripts and videos live on your device. Delete them inside the app or from your gallery. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored scripts. To cancel a subscription, use Google Play → Subscriptions.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
