Hello! My name is Caity Monahan and I have been a teacher at Trinity for 10 years. I have spent most of my time teaching 5th grade but just recently made the transition to Preschool.
I was born in northern Iowa but grew up in southern Minnesota where most of my family still resides. I attended Lutheran schools from preschool-high school and even my first year of college! I received my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa in 2013.
Growing up, I always knew that I was going to be a teacher. I love watching kids learn new things and grow in their skills. I am always excited to think of different ways to help kids discover new things about the world God created. My greatest joy in teaching is to be able to share my faith with my students and to help them grow in their own faith and knowledge of God. I hope to provide an inviting classroom environment where every child feels safe, loved, and able to be themselves.
My husband's name is Joe and I have 2 children, Adrianne and Lincoln. We will live on a farm just north of Walker and have many different animals, like cows, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and sometimes pigs. We also have 2 dogs and a few cats. I enjoy taking care of the animals on the farm, spending time outside, camping, musicals, baking, and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings.
I am an active member here at Trinity Lutheran Church and help with Sunday School and other programs. I also love to sing and am a part of the church's praise band. It is important to me to daily be in God's Word and continue to grow in my faith and spiritual life.
Hello! My name is Ms. Esther, and this is my second year at Trinity. I hold a Ph.D. in Chinese Literature and spent many years teaching at the university level, publishing books and articles, and working internationally as a visiting scholar. Along the way, I discovered that my greatest joy comes from working with young children and supporting their early learning experiences.
I now work in our toddler classroom as an assistant teacher, where I love creating a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for our youngest learners. I bring my passion for language, culture, and the arts into the classroom in developmentally appropriate ways, helping children feel curious, confident, and cared for. I am truly looking forward to serving you and your family this year and partnering with you in your child’s growth.
