Part-Time Minister (20–22 hours/week) at First Congregational Church of Albany New York

First Congregational Church of Albany is seeking a part-time minister to join our welcoming, diverse, and justice‑minded congregation. We are a 175‑year‑old church with a forward‑looking spirit, committed to compassion, inclusion, and meaningful community engagement. We are an Open and Affirming (ONA) and Accessible to All (A2A) congregation, and we strive to make sure everyone feels at home here.

We’re entering an exciting new chapter and are looking for a minister who brings warmth, creativity, and a genuine love for people.

About the Role

This settled, part-time position (20–22 hours/week) includes:

• Leading Sunday worship 

• Offering pastoral care and support

• Building relationships within our neighborhood

• Encouraging participation, connection, and volunteer engagement

• Collaborating with our Deacons, Trustees, and Church Council

• Supporting outreach, mission, and community partnerships

Compensation & Housing

• Salary: $21,500 (negotiable)

• Parsonage: A well‑maintained 4‑bedroom parsonage within walking distance of the church

• Utilities: Some utilities included; snow removal and lawn care provided

• Reimbursements: Cell phone/internet, conference/association registrations

This role is ideal for a bi‑vocational minister, and our congregation has a long history of successful part‑time pastorates. As our congregation continues to grow, we are open to increasing pastoral hours and salary in the future.
