Background of First Aid Club

Established in 1974 in Hwa Chong Junior College, First Aid Club used to be a Red Cross Chapter (tertiary-level unit) until 2012 when the club decided to go independent and sever its ties with other life-saving organisations. First Aid Club was founded with the intention of serving the school population whilst developing and nurturing the passion for First Aid among members – a mission we continue to strive towards even today.

The Club provides First Aid coverage for all major school events - ranging from the Combined Sports Meet to C1 Orientation and even Chinese New Year Celebrations. During trainings, members are equipped with a wide plethora of First Aid knowledge to better prepare for actual scenarios. Immobilisation Slings and Bandages, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and the Heimlich Maneuver Technique are just some of the knowledge which our members are equipped with.
