Firmin Doko Tchatoka

I am a Professor in the School of Economics and Public Policy at The University of Adelaide, where I translate my ongoing research on advanced econometric methods into real world applications in the classroom, to skill-up students with the expertise to solve real-world economic problems.

My research spans a wide range of topics including causal inference, model selection and optimal inference in moment condition models, bootstrap methods, identification of macroeconomic structural models, and causal machine learning. I am currently the lead investigator of multiple national and international competitive research grant projects, including two Australian Research Council (ARC) grants.  I have served on many Committees of the prestigious Econometric Society meetings, and I was twice a keynote lecturer at the Summer Institute of the Econometric Society. I am co-chairing the Organizing Committee of the 2024 African Econometric Society Meeting to be hosted by l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d'Economie Appliquée in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
