On February 18, 2020, two members of the Porterville Fire Department tragically lost their lives int he Porterville Public Library fire that also destroyed the city's library. The city of Porterville came together as a community since then to honor them for their sacrifice.
In 2021, the victims' families were able to attend the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Maryland that honored the local heroes. The families and firefighters who attended were greatly impacted by this experience and Leadership Porterville is raising funds to be able to send the family to Washington D.C. again next year.
All fundraiser proceeds will benefit this cause and any moneys not used for travel expenses will be donated to the families.
We would like to offer you the opportunity to join with us in honoring these local heroes and their families. By donating, you will be able to contribute to this wonderful cause and the community as it was greatly impacted by this loss.

Patrick was a man of honor, bravery, courage, and led his life with Christ. He died February 18, 2020, a month short of his 26th birthday.
Patrick’s love of being a fireman came to life when Captain Fricke brought the fire engine to Grace Lutheran School. He got onto the fire truck, and from that moment on nothing would stop his dreams of becoming a fireman.
In addition to being a dedicated firefighter, Patrick was a loving son, a protective little brother, a doting fiancé, and a loyal friend. He was a lover of all things sports and animals. If you let him, he would talk your ear off trying to defend his Chargers and Padres and tell you all about his baby pit bull, Lilo. Patrick’s love of sports and competitive drive were instilled at a young age. He was an amazing athlete.
