After installing the extension, click on the icon (fire clipart) and a pop-up will appear. In the pop-up, click Settings. On the Settings page, enter your Firecrawl API key and your OpenAI API key. Don't worry: your API keys are kept in local storage only on your device. We never see them.
We highly recommend pinning the extension so it's right there in front of you. Tutorial

Firecrawl AI search is a free Chrome extension designed to help you find and understand information on any website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience using our extension.
Dewey collects minimal data to provide its core functionality:
1. Current Tab URL: When you activate the extension, we collect the URL of the currently active tab in your Chrome browser.
2. Current Tab Title: Along with the URL, we also collect the title of the currently active tab.
We do NOT collect any other information!
Active Tab:
The activeTab permission is essential for the extension's core functionality. It allows the extension to access the URL of the currently active tab when the user initiates a crawl. This permission is used solely to identify the website that the user wants to crawl and analyze. Without the activeTab permission, the extension cannot determine which website to process.
Storage:
The storage permission is required to store user settings and data locally within the browser. This includes API Keys (securely saving the user's Firecrawl and OpenAI API keys to facilitate authenticated requests, conversation history, and crawled webpage data (temporary).
The URL and title of the current tab are used solely for the purpose of crawling the website. This information is:
1. Sent to the Firecrawl API to be crawled
3. Not used for any other purpose beyond providing the core functionality.
We do not sell your information to any party. Your chat messages will be sent to the OpenAI servers. The website you are looking at (URL) will be sent to the Firecrawl API. However, we do not attach personal information to either request so unless you provide personal information in your chat messages, your requests probably aren't trace-able back to you.
We do not retain any of the collected information besides your API keys in local storage.
As we do not store any personal data besides API keys (local storage), there is no personal information for users to access, modify, or delete. The extension's functionality can be controlled by enabling or disabling it in your Chrome browser. You can delete the extension at any time.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact the co-developer at https://x.com/itsandrewgao through Direct Messages. We will try to respond promptly.
