MBEA1126 | 20222023-01 | DESIGN PRE-THESIS 2 - URBANISM
Creating a compact city is one strategy for achieving environmental quality and social equity in vibrant neighborhoods. By prioritizing high-density development, efficient land use, and easy accessibility to amenities and services, compact cities can reduce sprawl, conserve green spaces, and improve air and water quality. Additionally, by creating livable and sustainable communities, compact cities can help to address social equity issues by providing affordable housing, improving access to jobs, and promoting social interaction. Engaging the community in green development programs will bring an interesting impact on their personal development, empowerment, and ability to connect with more marginalized people in their community towards Regreen urban lifestyle. The world will have the largest youth population ever over the next few years which will bring these issues into a solution for future development.
