I was introduced to academic research activity when I joined the American University of Technology in Lebanon in 2003. Since then, I have not looked back. Every year has added to the maturity of my research approaches as well as abilities. My research interests are in the areas of mobile and wireless networks. In particular, I am interested in the design of protocols and architecture for mobile and wireless systems. I am also interested in mainstream research in networks, quality of service provisioning, resource management, mobility management and 5G/6G architecture design. My recent and ongoing research is on the following topics, focusing mainly on aspects to 5G and beyond wireless networks:
o Future networks / 5G and beyond R&D with a focus on 5G Core network solutions.
o Network slicing with a focus on system architecture.
o Network management and orchestration
o Heterogeneous networks with a focus on architecture design and implementation.
