My Passion
I've grown to believe that having a passion for something, whether it be musical theater, video games, constitutional history, camping, collecting stamps, shopping for shoes, teaching English as a second language, or whatever, is one of the greatest supports to a person's happiness. A passion grants you motivation to work towards mastery and keep learning. It can frequently give you inspiration to travel and, consequently, to have the new experiences that are essential to happiness. It builds social ties by giving you something in common with other people. It provides you with motivation.
Since I was a little kid, I found that art and martial art was wonderful things. There are a lot of things I do relate those and I feel like I'm passionate about them. I've tried so many forms of art this past year, painting with acrylic watercolor digital, physical art, and many more. But for me, art is not as simple as that. Art has a large meaning from different people's perspectives. I like to fill my free time exploring many different kinds of art. Another one is Pencak silat. Pencak Silat is a physical sport which includes a wide range of martial arts that have their origins in Indonesia. Throwing, grappling, and hitting are all used in this form of fighting.
However, certain types of weaponry are allowed to be used by fighters. Any part of the body can be used in the Pencak Silat battle, so every part of the body can be attacked. This style of fighting began as a self-defense technique in Indonesia and developed into a sport. The sport has currently spread to many South Asian countries. The young Fira had only been dreaming of becoming an atlet Pencak silat. Her parents and grandfather, who is skilled at Pencak Silat, told her several stories about life in Silat. Since then, she has realized that martial arts may help her defend herself in a variety of unexpectedly dangerous situations. Her small brain believes that participating in this sport is not a waste of time. She finally was given the opportunity to learn more about silat with much excitement. In grade 8, she began practicing Pencak Silat Asa. Her good fortune allowed her to represent Pelalawan in a provincial tournament during the summer break of 2022. Even tho she can win the tournament but it was a great experience for her.
Here is the picture of my latest painting, I recreate on of the famous artists' painting.
Here is a photograph of the Pelalawan team that will compete in a provincial tournament called POPDA.
UN Day
“End racism builds peace” That’s the theme of UN day 2022 which is done on the 24th of October. UN day is an annual celebration to remember back on the creation of the united nation. United Nations itself give a big impact on humans all over the world as its own goals are to protect humans around the world in peace and security concerns. This celebration may help to educate people about the united nation itself and increase public awareness about the issue that is going on globally.
The junior high school students of Mutiara Harapan just held a UN day with several countries they represented. Which are Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Europe, Korea, and India. They provide a lot of activities during the celebration starting from games that can be played in the unique booth, some performances, and they also sell something.
Let us know more about the booth, Japan booth presents some Japanese traditional stuff like the Katana which is a Japanese sword, the Kitsune mask/ fox mask which is a very important tradition of japan as it is associated with gods, and they also have an artificial Sakura tree with wishes hang on the branches.
Next up we have India which presents Indian spices, and some candles as it's Deevapali day and they light some candles. All of the people in charge wore traditional Indian clothes that are called sari cloth, and there are many more things they exhibit in the booth.
It was a great experience attending this event as it allows me to be more knowledgeable about lots of things happening around the world. Knowing different cultures was an interesting thing I just found out. As in this even they also provide lots of activities, in my thinking it was another great way to let the audience know more about the country they presented.
Some people think that teenagers should concentrate on all subjects at school. Other believe that teenagers should focus on the subject they are best at or they are most interested in. To what extent do you agree?
Education is one of the most important things for humans. Education may open up our minds to the life issues we're going to face sooner or later. Lately, discussing the number of subjects for students to concentrate on has become a topic among all ages. Opinions have been spreading all around about this topic.
To start with, being able to concentrate on all subjects in school may help students have a wide range of knowledge. Most people think that schools will only provide students with subjects that are necessary, so there is no problem with them learning every single subject assigned by the education system. And in this way, teenagers may help themselves adapt more easily after they graduate. But concentrating on every single subject requires more time and effort for students.
On the other hand, an argument comes up that concentrating on a specific subject will help them a lot during their studies. Students who studied a subject that piqued their interest and passion proved to be more beneficial and did not study under duress. This will probably result in higher scores as those teenagers will spend their time only on the subjects they prefer to learn, not the subjects they dislike.
In my judgment, having the opportunity to learn about a subject you are interested in is a good thing. As in my experience of being a student until this day, learning the subjects, I dislike may put me under pressure and reduce my performance in the other subjects. Learning all subjects required may be done, but only the basic ones are necessary. We don't need to go deeper into those subjects.
Despite this, learning all subjects allows you to have a wider range of career options in the future. And a statement like “The more you learn, the higher your chances of surviving in life” would always be the right statement to hold onto. But concentrating on the subject they are interested in may increase students' performance as well.
Art and Music Day
We all know that holidays are the days that most of us are waiting for. There are lots of holiday-related events. I've never heard of "art and music day" in my life. I wanted to celebrate this event on the first of February. Throughout this passage, I will give details about the holiday.
First of all, art has a great impact that you may not realize. Someone has discovered that art may be used to cure mental illness, and in recent years, it has been proven to cure people with mental illness. This day will also allow people to rest and relieve stress. Artists may also have had an opportunity to show their masterpieces and be appreciated.
Second of all, music has a huge role in most of our lives. Maybe you didn't realize how much you needed music in your daily life until there were moments when you couldn't listen to it. Nowadays, many musicians are popular not for their music but for their appearance. This day will help everyone feel appreciated for their efforts at work.
Finally, we will have a holiday on this day, and there are events in town to celebrate this day. There will be an art space held in a park where artists may show their art in a kind of exhibition and people may do some simple art just to relax and enjoy the day. And in the afternoon, there will be a musical performance that may be enjoyed by lots of people. This day will allow people to unwind after a long day of work.
In conclusion, this day helps people relax, and artists will have an annual opportunity to show their talent. Being appreciated and having time to rest proved to be ways of preventing mental illness.
IELTS Writing Task
English is a language that is acceptable by the world. It helps us to gain more knowledge which is why it is very important to learn English at school. But it does not mean that local languages are not important as we still need to preserve our traditions.
The local language will help us a lot during our learning as it is the language we use daily & it is the language that we understand fully. Because of this, learning the local language will be as important as learning English. The importance of learning English is helping us to gain knowledge internationally. Being fluent in English means that we can share our thoughts and know others' opinions worldwide. Preserving the local language and learning English may both be thought at school. This helps students to be more knowledgeable and stops the local language from dying out.
Being fluent in English increases students' confidence in public speaking. Public speaking is an important life skill that will help students improves their career in the future. They may also have a great career outside their home country by being fluent in English. As this being said, it doesn't mean that the local language won't help a student's career. There will be a lot of students that prefer to have a career in their home country and will use the local language as their first language.
Throughout this passage, there is an agreement that learning the local language and English is both important. But in my judgment, learning English at school will be more important than the local language as we can learn the local language outside the school learning program. This local language is the language we use to communicate daily in our home country so we don't have to learn it at school
