My philosophy is that all students can learn, each student is unique and learning needs to be differentiated in an engaging, stimulating, fun, and creative way. As educators we need to foster a growth mindset where students take ownership of their learning and understand that mistakes are part of growth. To foster a growth mindset, the educator needs to build strong relationships and build a safe environment where creative risks and mistakes are welcome, and where the student understands that learning takes time and determination. Learning needs to go beyond the school. Learning needs to be meaningful and relevant, and it needs to connect to the real world. Our world is forever changing, so we need to prepare our students to be global citizens where skills like critical thinking, risk-taking, open-mindedness, innovation, creativity, compassion and a love for learning are essential. It is very important for our students to see themselves as life-long learners.
