This project was organized by KMPF UNJ with the theme "Menembus Bumi Wonosobo", held from 2023 to 2024
The central theme of this project is Photography Hunting & Exploration: “Menembus Bumi Wonosobo.” In August 2023, a group of young photographers from KMPF UNJ embarked on a photographic exploration to capture the breathtaking landscapes, cultural richness, and unique stories of Wonosobo through their lenses. This journey was not only about documenting visual beauty but also about experiencing the atmosphere, mysteries, and lives hidden behind the misty highlands. The culmination of this exploration was the photo exhibition “Cerita dari Negeri di Atas Awan,” held at the Antara Photojournalism Gallery in Jakarta from June 21–28, 2024. The exhibition showcased selected works from the expedition and was accompanied by a workshop and a seminar, providing a platform for learning, sharing, and celebrating photography as a medium of storytelling.

I had the valuable opportunity to take on dual roles as a committee member and a field photographer in the project Photography Hunting & Exploration: “Menembus Bumi Wonosobo.” As part of the organizing team, I was involved in preparing the program and ensuring that each stage of the project ran smoothly. At the same time, I participated in the field exploration in August 2023, capturing the breathtaking landscapes, cultural richness, and hidden stories of Wonosobo through my lens. Balancing these two roles was both challenging and rewarding, as I contributed to the success of the project while also experiencing the journey firsthand as a photographer. The culmination of this project, the exhibition “Cerita dari Negeri di Atas Awan” at the Antara Photojournalism Gallery in Jakarta, became a proud moment for me as I saw our collective works displayed and realized that I had been part of the journey from the planning process behind the scenes to the field exploration itself.
