I'm a second-year mathematics PhD student at the University of Sydney, studying with Geordie Williamson and Oded Yacobi. Before that, I completed my B. Sc. and M. Sc. at Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg under the supervision of Peter Fiebig.
My research interest is broadly in representation theory. Specific research foci include:
Geometry of flag varieties
Combinatorial and piece-wise geometric characterisations of cohomology in torus-equivariant geometry
Hodge theoretic methods in algebra and combinatorics
Modular representation theory of symmetric groups and connections to Verlinde p-categories
Semisimplifying categorical Heisenberg actions and periodic equivalences (2025) joint with Chris Hone, Bregje Pauwels, Alex Sherman, Oded Yacobi and Victor Zhang. Link to preprint
During Semester 1, 2025, I was a MATH1061A (Linear Algebra) tutor at the University of Sydney. During my time as a graduate student in Erlangen, I tutored multiple other courses, including Calculus I through III and an introductory course to the representation theory of finite groups. I am passionate about teaching and believe that good teaching and tuition are necessary to combat the prejudice that mathematics is scary or inaccessible.
I am currently the organiser of the Informal Friday Seminar at the University of Sydney. The IFS aims to host widely accessible, questions-forward talks aimed at a broad mathematical audience. The accessible character is in line with my personal philosophy on teaching and science communication in general.
My email address is [My first name].[Surname of the founder of the Erlangen programme]@sydney.edu.au.
