character design is a favorite for me. When I'm not working on art of original characters, I will be creating concept art of characters for classes and my own stories. I excel in creative designs and character designs given with specific parameters.
Nessus is from my Game Design course. Game Design is a class that Communication Arts Offers that shows you the basics of concept work in game design. You are given a game art style to copy off of as well as a folktale or story. The concept I was given was Dante's Inferno in the style of Nicholas Cole and the Spyro games he worked on. Though Nessus is not the main character, I wanted to create her design early, showcasing her playful nature with her mismatched, tattered jester look. 2025
this character was created for my concept design class. The project was to create a single character that would work well in a bazaar/city type planet. My initial design was to create a sort of builder, who worked to develop the city and build all of the architecture that existed there. 2025
This is another character created for that same concept design course, and the only limit to it was that it needed to be a softer, more light sort of alien type. 2025
my very first sketches. I wanted a creature that seemed to live in or almost completely grow in a pot. A living mammal type plant. 2025
my second, more developed sketches. I decided to go with a cat like design, liking the goofy offset and asymetrical design to contrast with the former characters symmetry. 2025
the final piece. A sidekick character to the above kind character. 2025
my final design for the class. an aquatic alien that lives on a planet covered in 80% water. She is inspired by sea slugs. 2025
