I am a 2000 graduate of Woodland School. I graduated in 2004 from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in biological sciences and have been teaching at Woodland since 2006. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Justin, for 20 years. We are grateful for our two incredible boys, Jase and Josiah. Students, I am excited to welcome you into my classroom. Welcome back! I hope you had a relaxing and fun filled summer. I am excited to see you all again and I am confident that we can work together to make this year a success! Google Classroom Information
Students will be set up with a school email account and password. This will allow them access to google classroom. They will be using this classroom for turning in assignments, group projects, class activities and more.

Homework- Homework is to be completed and turned into by the day and time it is due. Late homework will not receive full credit (See school policy for late work below).
Organization- keep his/her notes and other papers in a notebook/folder that is designated just for this class. Students must have the following items every class; Chromebook, textbook, notebook, pencil and pen.
Excused Absences.-If a student is absent, he/she is responsible to complete all make-up work. If a student missed a test/quiz/lab, she/he will need to make an appointment to complete the work. Be aware that there are non-academic consequences for unexcused absences, which are left to the discretion of administration.
School Wide Cell Phone & Other Electronic Devices- Phones and other electronic devices are to be placed in the device holder when students enter the classroom. They are to remain in the holder for the entirety of the period. unless permission is given by the teacher. If a student refuses, administration will be contacted to deal with the issue. I reserve the right to take any device to the office.
Students will be respectful of their classmates and their teacher
Students will take responsibility for their own actions.
Students will be on time and prepared for class.
Students will participate in activities and discussions during class.
Students will only be allowed to leave the classroom under unusual circumstances.
The following consequences will be given to students who decide not to uphold their responsibilities in the classroom:

Note: Students who choose to create an unsafe learning environment or a large distraction will be given the appropriate consequences that may not follow the above order.

Late Work - Late Work will be accepted during the quarter it is assigned for grades 6-12. Assignments will not be accepted for credit if turned in after the quarter unless given approval by an administrator.
1st Quarter Due Date: 10/10
2nd Quarter Due Date: 12/19
3rd Quarter Due Date: 3/10
4th Quarter Due Date: 5/22 (Earlier date may be used for Seniors to qualify for graduation.)
Points Deducted - The maximum percentage of points a student can receive will be reduced by 10% per each date late - up to 5 days.
1 Day Late - Max Score of 90%
2 Days Late - Max Score of 80%
3 Days Late - Max Score of 70%
4 Days Late - Max Score of 60%
5 Days or More - Max Score of 50%
