The app will ask about your internet connection type, device brand, device color, and if it has a fingerprint scanner. Only the color will be asked again every time you open the app. The main menu is pretty bland as it only features a customizable theme and five buttons with outdated-looking icons. How To Use displays your settings and instructions on how to set up scan cycles for the app. Lock Screen contains the lock screen option setting, which is a measly checkbox for enabling it.

Anyone else having issues with the lock screen where pressing the power button will bring up an empty screen with just your home screen background? It's not even the lock screen picture, it's the home screen background. And not even the fingerprint scanner or icon shows up.

The current workaround is pretty simple, but adds more time to the already long (and often un-reliable) bio-metric unlock. I need to press the power button a second time to turn the screen off, then pressing it a third time; and now the the lock screen background with finger print scanner will show up.

Lock Screen - Fingerprint Support is a free security and privacy companion that allows you to safeguard your smartphone and tablet through an eight-numerical password, pattern, or fingerprint lock. Keep in mind though that the fingerprint function only works for some supported devices. With this tool, you can further protect any unauthorized usage of your gadgets.

Your eyes will also feast with tons of beautiful and elegant-looking password lock themes available for you to freely utilize. Lock Screen - Fingerprint Support can be an excellent alternative for Fingerprint Lock Screen, All Applock, and Lock screen password.

Thanks to its straightforward but still, elegant-looking user interface, you can set any lock screen with so much ease. To enable password security, you must first think and create numerical combinations with a maximum length of eighth numbers. Making a pattern key is easier though as you only need to connect the circled buttons to successfully emulate a lock screen.

Lock screen - Fingerprint support is a handy addition to your device in case that it doesn't have the ability to provide you further protection. With its extensive lock screen powers, you will be able to safe-keep your gadgets from potential intruders. It restricts them from easily invading your privacy as they have to unlock the set password, pattern, or fingerprint before all else.

Since your Galaxy phone holds all your important information, make sure to protect it and keep things private. A great way to increase the security on your phone is by setting up a screen lock. You can use a few different screen lock types, such as fingerprint identification, face recognition, pattern, or password. This way, no one else will be able to access your device.

Once you've set up a biometric security feature, make sure that you have it set on your Lock screen. For example, you need to have Fingerprint unlock activated if you want to unlock your phone with your fingerprints. To do so, just tap your desired biometric feature, and make sure the appropriate switch (i.e. Fingerprint unlock, Face unlock) is turned on.

For extra protection, you can set up secure lock settings, such as an automatic screen lock when your Galaxy phone is idle. However, these settings won't show up until after you've already made a Lock screen.

From Settings, tap Lock screen, and then tap Secure lock settings. Enter your current lock screen credentials. Then, turn your desired Secure lock settings on or off by tapping the switch.

To set up Extend Unlock, navigate to and open Settings, then tap Lock screen, and then tap Extend unlock. From here, enter your lock screen credentials. The following options are available:

I find myself accidentally unlocking the phone and having to lock it again. Sometimes I just want to unlock to read my notifications from the lock screen without going to my home screen. This was possible on my Samsung device but wonder if it's a feature available on Xperia devices.

Use the fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone, make fast and secure online purchases, and sign into bank and finance apps. You can add more than one fingerprint. Fingerprints are stored securely on the phone.

To wake and unlock your screen, or any time you see on the screen, touch your finger to the sensor to verify your identity.

After you touch , you'll also need to enter your pattern, PIN, or password if:

I have the following problem. I'm trying to make an app that locks the screen. The method via DevicePolicyManager works very well. So far so good. But when I lock my phone with DPM the fingerprint unlocking method is disabling and I have to enter my pattern (or PIN or whatever I set) to unlock the phone. If I lock it the normal way (ie with power button) the fingerprint unlocking works.

What it actually does is that it sets the screen to complete black i.e. soft lock (which gives user a false impression of screen off) and then after 5-10 seconds the display actually goes off due to time-out.

Android 9 finally added a solution for this (or a workaround, itdepends on how you look at it). A new AccessibilityService globalaction was added for locking the device [1], [2]. Nova Launcheralready has a screen lock method using this service action in thelatest beta, and it allows for locking the device and keepingfingerprint unlock and SmartLock working.

The Google Clock alarm goes off, but does not appear on the lock screen and can't be dismissed via the volume down button (a setting that is enabled). I have to unlock the phone, which takes me to the alarm screen that is going off to then dismiss or snooze via the screen or volume down button. Not ideal.

In doing further investigation, it appears that having Do Not Disturb enabled when using the Google Clock prevents it from showing up in place of the lock screen. Thus, it seems like the two options are:

Use the fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone, make fast and secure online purchases, and sign into bank and finance apps. You can add more than one fingerprint. Fingerprints are stored securely on the phone.

I work in a secure establishment and see crime reports on a regular basis, and have seen robbery reports where the offender will ask the victim for the PIN or access code of a stolen phone (and check it works while they have the victim at knife point). If a criminal does this and finds the ring app they then have both your home address (which appears on the very first page of the app!) and instant access to disarm your home security until you are able to get onto a PC and start removing authorised devices. This also applies in less dramatic scenarios where a phone might simply be left unlocked in a public space and picked up - a scenario like this may potentially even be worse because it might not be realised that the phone has been taken until later.

I have a pre-installed app/feature on my phone called Secure Folder. I installed the ring app in that folder, uninstalled it from the main app drawer, and added a shortcut to the new installation of the ring app on my home screen. Now, my phone requires re-authentication (e.g. by fingerprint) whenever I try to open ring.

Forgot lock screen password but fingerprint still works. Help. I still have access to my phone, apps and certain settings but still get asked for password for certain things but can't use fingerprint in that situation. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, if you have forgotten the password, there isn't really any way of being able to change it. To update the password in Security Settings, you're required to entry the current password to change it. The fingerprint will allow you to unlock the screen, but as you said, some actions require the actual password. There is power that to update our recover use of the password feature, you may end up having to do a factory reset. I may be wrong on this come so before you do a reset hopefully someone else will offer a solution less drastic.

The fingerprint scanner on my phone is broken. This has made my transition to 1Password pretty taxing, as there is no configuration option for extending the lock timeout. I find myself needing to type in my master password every single time.

1Password 7 for Android did have a PIN code unlock option available but since most mobile devices now include fingerprint scanners or face-unlock options, we've revamped our security settings to enable you to unlock 1Password with your account password or biometrics. 1Password 8 showcases a modern, beautiful UI and we wanted our unlock options to follow this trend and provide the most up-to-date unlock options.

These settings can be quite aggressive on some devices and changing settings such as Battery Optimization to Unrestricted often does not have an impact. In my experience some of the worst culprits can be OnePlus, Lenovo, Xiaomi, and Samsung but it can affect all devices. An option that can help is setting 1Password to "lock" or "keep open" in Recents if available. For example with a contemporary Samsung device you can follow these steps:

1. Open 1Password.

2. Open Recents (the button with three vertical lines or a swipe up on the home screen).

3. Tap the 1Password icon above the 1Password window.

4. Select "Keep open".

When I unlock my iPhone 13 mini running ios 15.1 using face id, I have to make the home gesture once again to get to the home screen. Is it possible to unlock the phone and either land in the app from which one unlocked the phone or land on the home screen? 2351a5e196
