How does the Portal-frame gesture work?
Hold both hands up to the camera and shape a rectangle with your thumbs and index fingers, like framing a shot. On-device hand-tracking finds that rectangle, locks onto it, and applies the effect you've picked inside the frame in real time — the rest of the video stays untouched.
Where do my recordings go?
Every recording is saved locally to the app's Library. Tap Save to Phone on any clip to also copy it into your device's Photos app. Nothing is ever uploaded — see our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
I bought Pro on another device — how do I restore it?
Open Settings → Restore Purchases while signed into the same Apple ID or Google account you originally purchased with. Your entitlement is tied to your store account, not to a specific phone, so it restores instantly — no new charge.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed and managed entirely by Apple or Google — we can't see or change them from our side. On iOS, go to Settings app → your name → Subscriptions. On Android, open the Play Store → Payments & subscriptions.
Why isn't my hand being detected?
Hand-tracking needs decent, even light and your full hand in frame — strong backlight or very dim rooms are the most common cause of a missed detection. Keep the frame gesture steady for half a second; the app briefly bridges short dropouts so a quick flicker won't reset your effect.
Does Portal Frame work offline?
Yes — every effect, including hand-tracking, runs on-device with no network call required. You can record in airplane mode.
