I chose to perform Allegro arr. by Arthur Bent and Norman O'Neill. This piece was composed by Joseph Hector Fiocco. Fiocco is known for his compositions for the harpsicord but his best piece he had written was Allegro for violin. Allegro was written to be a happy song because that is what it means. In music terms its supposed to be written as fast and lively. Fiocco family is from Italy. Italy is a place that does not have a lot of way to have fun. What they do for fun is to watch television, read newspaper, or go to the cinema. Things like sports are not as famous there. To be honest, life there sounds boring. Fiocco wrote this piece to feel quite the opposite. This piece brings a lot of livelihood to those who play this piece because of its tempo.
I chose this song because of the Italian culture behind it. On my bucket list, I wanted to travel outside the country and one of the destinations to visit was Italy. I always was a fan of Italian cuisine. Although the song was written by aa composer who was born in Belgium, he still originated from Italy. another reason for choosing this piece was that I wanted to test my limits to play something more advanced than what I normally play.
If I had to pick one out of all of the Italian food that I have had, I would definitely pick lasagna. Lasagna is good to eat but it is also fun to make.
