Finding Bangladesh works on collecting, preserving, and initiating conversations on Bangladesh’s ancient histories, folklores, mythologies, and legends. We do this using different mediums that cater and appeal to a younger school and university audience while focusing primarily on using feature-length documentary films, animations, storytelling, and workshops. To date, two documentary films have been released. The first film, titled simply “Finding Bangladesh” was premiered on August 09th, 2008, and focused on Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions. The second film, titled “Bangladesher Harano Golpo,” premiered on October 26th, 2018, focusing on Khulna and Barisal divisions. “Bangladesher Harano Golpo” has also recently been incorporated into the Bangladesh Studies curriculum at Green University. The films, which are riddled with animated storytelling, are our attempt to visually record and immortalize the tales and historical sites of our country.
Alongside, over the past years, we have held numerous workshops and story-telling sessions with universities, schools, embassies, and ex-pat communities. The intent is always to revive the lost tales of our land and help the younger generation be more sentient of our Bangladeshi identity. Finding Bangladesh’s aim is to inspire our target audience to explore and know more about the roots of our country.
