Effective date: 15 October 2026
Find++ helps you find, highlight, and navigate text on the current webpage using plain text, regular expressions, and SQL-style wildcards.
Website content
When you activate Find++, it reads webpage text to identify and highlight matching results. It may use selected text to pre-fill the search box. While the tool is open, it may repeat the search when page content changes.
Webpage text may contain personal information, depending on the page you choose to search. Find++ processes that text solely to provide its search functionality.
Search terms and preferences
Find++ processes the search terms you enter and saves the following locally in your browser:
Your last search term.
Your selected search mode.
Your case-sensitivity setting.
Your whole-word setting.
All search processing takes place on your device. Find++ does not transmit webpage content, search terms, or preferences to the developer, external servers, or third parties.
Webpage text and search results are processed in memory and are not saved in the extension’s persistent storage.
Your last search term and preferences are stored using the browser’s local extension storage, not Chrome Sync.
Find++ does not:
Maintain a browsing-history log.
Track your activity across websites.
Record general keystrokes, clicks, or mouse movements.
Read password fields or other form-control values.
Include advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking tools.
Require an account.
Information is used only to:
Find text matching your search.
Highlight matches and navigate between them.
Update results when webpage content changes.
Remember your last search and preferences.
Find++ does not sell, rent, or share user data.
It does not use data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness assessments, lending decisions, or purposes unrelated to its search functionality.
The developer has no remote access to the webpage text or searches processed by the extension.
activeTab
Provides temporary access to the current tab when you activate the extension.
scripting
Allows the extension to insert its packaged search interface and highlighting functionality into the current webpage.
storage
Allows the extension to remember your last search and preferences locally.
offscreen
Allows a packaged background document to run search operations in a separate worker, helping prevent complex regular expressions from freezing the webpage.
Your saved search term and preferences remain locally until replaced or cleared.
Clear saved data: Use the extension’s clear remembered data control to remove saved settings.
Uninstall: Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage.
Close the tool: Closing stops page monitoring and removes the interface and highlights. It does not delete saved preferences or the last search term.
Find++ complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. User data is handled only to provide the extension’s stated functionality.
This policy will be updated if the extension’s data-handling practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision.
