When talking about foam production, there are several steps involved and one such step is foam cutting. To fit the requirements of different applications, foam is usually cut down in different shapes and sizes.

Horizontal Cutting Machines

Most of the foam-cutting machines use thin metal wire made of stainless steel or nichrome to cut foam into desired shapes and sizes.

A horizontal foam cutting machine is used to slice foam into manageable sheets with speed and ease. It works along a flat plane and the knife to cut the foam is placed or fitted horizontally.

● Automatic Horizontal Foam Cutting Machine

These machines are PLC controlled and are used to cut PU foam blocks into sheets of thickness from 2.5mm to 200mm. They are fully automatic and allow the operation to be started from any position with just a press of one button.

After cutting sheets, the cutting section lifts a little to automatically allow the reverse movement of the table.

● Heavy Duty Horizontal Foam Cutting Machine

These models are specially designed to cut high-density bonded and flexible foam into sheets ranging from 10mm to 200mm. They are PLC controlled and are operated through a touchscreen.

For smooth cutting, the foam is cut by an endless band knife over two balanced wheels. The cut sheets are to be picked manually.

● Belt Horizontal Foam Cutting Machine:

This heavy-duty model is used for both cutting and stacking PU foam sheets from 2.5mm to 200mm. It comes with a powerful vacuum system that allows sheets to be stacked and need not be picked after each cut.

● Circular Cutting Machines:

These fully-automatic machines are used to cut flexible foam blocks into mattresses (100 to 200mm) to sheets as thin as 1.5mm of thickness. To offer a smooth and accurate cut, the cutting is done by an endless band saw blade that runs on four dynamically balanced wheels.
