Round One of Research Due 2/15/2026!!!
The Leaders of the FRO are very excited to share that the first official round of submissions is approaching us in the near future! Since this is a new competition, we would like to go over the requirements, steps of submission, and general information!
Overview
The Financial Research Observatory is a new hub for curiosity, innovation, and talent. Ran completely by students, we want to be the next big research competition for all topics business, finance, and economics. We also give an amazing opportunity to have your work featured, with 60% of work being accepted.
Steps of Submission
1. Fill in a simple google form with general information.
2. While your information is pending, work on your entry (see below)
3. When you get your confirmation email, you will see a link to upload your entry
4. On that link, paste your entry and all additional information
First Form Due: 2/1/26
Final Application Due: 2/15/26
Rules and Requirements
All general information responses must be formal, appropriate, and looked over for spelling mistakes. The email you will receive confirmation from is as follows: youtheconawareness@gmail.com. Do not email to apply, only fill out the form.
You can begin working on the actual research or paper at any time, however, you will not be able to submit until you receive an official confirmation email.
Submissions should have relevance in the field of economics, business, finance, fraud, humanities, or law (other topic submissions will still be read, but may have significantly lower chances of being selected). The work must be between 2-8 pages long and must be formatted on a portrait-style GOOGLE DOCUMENT. You may work on another site, but at the end it must be on a google doc. The format should be as follows
Title should be size 20 Times New Roman Font
Author name should be Size 14 Times New Roman under the title
Headings (although optional) are recommended for longer work and should be size 16 Times New Roman
ALL normal text must be size 12 Times New Roman
The document should be double-spaced
Do not add an abstract at this stage of the application
The paper can have up to 10 pictures (charts, graphs, etc.)
The paper has to have a 500 word MINIMUM
Sources should be neatly presented in MLA format at the end of the document
Do Not add any "thank you" or "credits" at the end (you will be prompted in the second application
