MQF Level 3 course designed to equip persons working with vulnerable groups with skills in financial literacy.
The Ministry for the Social Justice and Solidarity, the Family and Children’s Rights in collaboration with MCAST is offering an accredited and certified Financial Literacy Award (MQF Level 3) under ESF.02.063 – Knowledge, Training, Communications and Support Measures in Support of Vulnerable Groups.
The Financial Literacy Award (MQF Level 3) will be funded under the European Social Fund (ESF), Operational Programme II - Investing in human capital to create more opportunities and promote the well-being of society for the 2014-2020 programming period.
The course is open for:
All government employees working with disadvantaged groups
Members/employees of registered voluntary organizations working with disadvantaged groups
17th Cohort - Delivered from the 10th May - 24th June 2021
Lessons will be held through Teams
The Financial Literacy Award which consists of a total of 60 hours through an online platform will be held every Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. This 60-hour course will help to equip the learners with the required skills to be able to pass on valuable information and support to vulnerable groups.
The course will focus on two units:
Unit 1: Managing Money - this will include modules on personal budget, savings, cash management, expense management, borrowing sensibly, loan & debt, financial abuse and inheritance management.
Unit 2: Investment and Personal Finance Planning - this will include modules on child support, planning for the future, successful experiences, maximizing income & earning power, opening a business and social security.
Since lessons will be held through either Teams the participants that apply must be able to access these platforms.
An MCAST Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to those candidates who satisfy the 80% attendance criteria and achieve an overall pass mark in the course assessment
