Saint Paul Community Literacy Consortium
Welcome to the Saint Paul Community Literacy Consortium Narrative.
The Saint Paul Community Literacy Consortium (SPCLC) is the largest Adult Basic Education (ABE) consortium in Minnesota, distinguished by its strong collaborative structure. Its significant success is rooted in the full, equal partnership of Saint Paul Public Schools ABE and nine nonprofit community-based organizations. Saint Paul Public Schools serves as the fiscal agent for the consortium and Literacy Minnesota oversees the consortium's administrative budget, which includes consultant time for an SPCLC Facilitator, a Data Manager and an Instructional Quality Coach, as well as funds for consortium-wide projects and initiatives as determined by members. This collective approach leverages a strong community focus, with many partner organizations specifically dedicated to addressing the needs of the diverse communities residing in Saint Paul. Together, the SPCLC provides a comprehensive array of ABE services, innovative curricula, and initiatives that have influenced practice both across our consortium and statewide.
