Final Fantasy Xiv Registration Code Ps5 Digital Download

I call Playstation tech support and they send me to Square, who is closed on weekends and holidays. So on yesterday, 9-2, I contact Square-Enix and they do some looking and tell me that the digital downloads contain the registration key, so I need to work with Playstation to fix the issue. Basically telling me I have a bad download.

I made several calls to both Square and Playstation. Playstation tells me that I need the registration code from Square and Square tells me that the digital copies have the registration code "built-in" and that I need to do nothing but start the application.

TL;DR I redeemed Sony Rewards points for a PS4 FFXIV download that didn't come with a registration code built-in. Square Enix will not give me a registration code, Playstation will not give me a copy of the game that includes a license, and Sony Rewards will not refund my points nor give me a code that will work.

One theory I have is that the codes that Sony Rewards are generating are for the PS4's early access / PS3-to-PS4 upgrade version which would have no registration code tied to it. After looking around online the only people I see who had this issue are from April when people downloaded the early access version when that was listed as free and didn't have a PS3 registration code. The PlayStation blog (comment #27 & #42) comments have a rep from SquareEnix saying that the early access copy doesn't include the registration code and is intended for existing (at the time) PS3 owners.

I did bring this up with PlayStation's support and they say they can't and won't "exchange", give me credit to buy, or just give me the "regular" standard edition, and that I need to get a new code from Sony Rewards or a registration code from Square Enix. Square Enix tells me to get a new code from Sony Rewards or have PlayStation fix it. Sony Rewards says the code was redeemed successfully, so there is nothing they can or will do.

I'm new. I decided I wanted to try FFXIV since it was on sale, so I purchased and installed it but when I start it up I get the "Cannot launch Final fantasy XIV. Please register the promotion code included with your package or download." I know there's supposed to be a registration screen but I don't even get that far. This message immediately pops up then tells me to close out the game.
