Privacy Policy for FilmyWap
Effective date: October 3, 2026
FilmyWap is an Android app for browsing movie and series information. This policy explains what the app stores on your phone and when it contacts another service.
What the app does
FilmyWap shows a catalog of movies and series, with posters, details, and a place to save titles. It does not create an account, play videos, stream movies, or offer downloads. The app does not include YouTube links.
Information stored on your device
These items stay on the phone in a local database and a local preferences file:
Watchlist, favorites, and seen list, including the title, year, artwork link, and related catalog fields needed to show the card again
Your theme choice (dark, light, or system)
FilmyWap does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes this on-device data.
Catalog requests
If the build of the app includes a The Movie Database (TMDB) API key, FilmyWap requests titles, posters, backdrops, ratings, and credits from TMDB over HTTPS. A search also sends the text you type. TMDB receives ordinary connection data, such as your IP address, under the TMDB privacy policy and API terms. Poster and backdrop images may be loaded from TMDB image servers and cached on the device so they open faster next time.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
If that key is not included, FilmyWap shows a built-in sample catalog stored in the app. Those screens do not contact a movie service.
Links you choose to open
About and Licenses can open the TMDB website, the TMDB API terms, or an open-source license page in your browser. FilmyWap does not receive the account or browsing data of that other site. The other site’s own privacy policy applies after the page opens.
What this app does not do
FilmyWap does not sell personal information. The app does not include an advertising SDK, an analytics SDK, or an advertising identifier. It does not ask for location, contacts, camera, microphone, or storage permissions. The only permission it requests is Internet, which is used for catalog data and images when a TMDB key is present, and for the website links above when you tap them.
Backup
Android backup and device transfer may include the local database and theme setting if you use those Android features. That copy is handled by your Google account and Android, not by a FilmyWap server. The developer does not run an account server for this app.
Children
FilmyWap is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
Catalog traffic uses HTTPS. On-device lists are protected by the same device lock and app-storage rules Android applies to other apps. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
