Bio 

RENE ASCH (aka Rene L. Ash in the USA)

Born in Brussels, Belgium devoted his career to the Motion Picture Industry and Entertainment Publishing. Began as writer for a film trade journal and also wrote special articles for Variety, The International Film Guide, BECTU (UK), Film World (India) and for journals in Japan and France. Also author of a number of film industry books. From 1968 - 1979 was Publicity Director for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Moving Picture Machine Operators (IATSE), the leading US entertainment union in film production. Then was elected to the post of Secretary-Treasurer of the East Coast Council of Motion Picture Production Locals. In this capacity was production consultant for great many feature films including All The President's Men, The Exorcist, The French Connection, etc. and later for Director-Producer William Castle. Rene was also on the Board of the Hollywood  Motion Picture Publicists Guild. There was nominated as Best Publicist 1974. 

In bringing the Tax Incentive Bill to fruition, he and then Columbia Pictures President Leo Jaffe presented the Entertainment Tax Incentive Bill to the US Congress.

Upon leaving the IATSE, he became Editor-in-Chief for Backstage, a theatrical newspaper. He has worked as a freelance publicist and edited numerous European and American film journals and encyclopedias. He was editor of the annual guide for producers Producers Masterguide, as well as Associate Editor of Spectra Film (NL).

Eagle Films was formed for packaging films, bought US films for distribution in other countries and also offered many other services.

In 2008 he moved to Berlin, DE where two years later he formed Films In Motion, GbR. The first film AL DIO IGNOTO - Kineofilm s.r.l, Trieste was produced in Italy.
