The Crowdfunding Campaign for LUCAS- Short Film of Blood, Trauma, and Survival has launched!
Lucas gives his first performance in theatre class while having nightmarish flashbacks.
In this eerie short horror film, Lucas battles intrusive memories of his older brother drinking his blood. These visions haunt him while he performs alone in theater class.
More than just a horror story, Lucas explores the lingering effects of trauma and complex PTSD. Vampirism serves as a fighting metaphor for real-life predation and abuse, capturing its horror without resorting to gratuitous triggering imagery.
Dedicated to diversity and accessibility the film aims to spark meaningful conversations inside BIPOC and disabled communities about abuse.
Lucas is a proof-of-concept short film for the feature-length project, Brother’s Keeper. We plan to premiere the short at film festivals to secure funding for the feature, which will delve even deeper into themes of trauma, complex PTSD and their effects on diverse individuals.
