Net als het camerateam moet het geluidsteam nauwkeurig bijhouden wat zij opnemen in geluidsrapporten. Meestal wordt dit gedaan door de geluidmixer zelf. Hij kan dat doet met pen en papier op voorbereide formulieren, maar ook op een laptop.

Een geluidsrapport bevat de volgende standaardinformatie:

– De naam van het project

– De naam van de producent

– De naam van de regisseur

– De naam van de geluidsmixer

Dan wordt met de hand de volgende informatie opgeschreven:

– De datum

– Het nummer of letter van de microfoon (indien er met meer dan een microfoon wordt gedraaid)

– Het nummer van de tape (indien er met tapes wordt gewerkt)

– Het nummer van de scène en instelling

– Het nummer van de take

– De hoeveelheid materiaal die voor iedere take gebruikt werd in tijdscodes

– De takes die de regisseur geprint wil hebben worden gemerkt

– Eventuele opmerkingen over het verloopt van de take
