ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
Hi there! My name is Miriam Perez :)
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where I dedicated my childhood to my gymnastics career. I trained about 35 hours a week from age eight to 18 years old. Throughout the years, I had the great privilege of training with Olympic-level athletes from all over the world. The experiences and training I endured in my club gymnastics days helped me become a student-athlete for The Ohio State University.
During the 2020 gymnastics season, I fractured both my shins and although I was not able to compete, I found that I could still contribute to my team through photography. I had never picked up a camera before but soon found myself falling in love with capturing the excitement and beauty of sports.
After I discovered this new passion of mine, I became an intern for Ohio State Athletics’ digital media team where I shot photos at different sports events, curated content for their various social media platforms, and built pages for their website. I ended up graduating from The Ohio State University with a Strategic Communications degree and a Creative Writing minor in the Spring of 2023.
One thing led to another and I ended up being blessed with the opportunity to be a Rams Video Trainee despite having zero video experiences. Yup, Zero. None. Nada. I spent eight incredible months with the Los Angeles Rams and they taught me everything I know about video production. From pre-production and planning to editing and post-production, I truly got to experience it all and I can’t express how thankful I am for those people, that organization, and the opportunity they gave me.
As for my future, I am looking forward to continuing to pursue a career in videography and filmmaking!
I hope you enjoy looking through my portfolio :)
