I can consistently connect with putty, I can conssistently connect with chrome or IE however filezilla seems hit or miss. Sometimes rebooting the switch helps. Sometimes closing and reopening filezilla helps. ANy special settings in filezilla? I ftp to things every day from many vendors - this is the first time I've hit a glitch with filezilla.

I am trying to connect to my ReadyNAS Duo v1 with filezilla, see the attached screen shots. I am using the admin log in and password. It appears to be connecting ok but will not get a directory listing.

Sorry Admin at the moment I was a little confused, its actually the client version that can take over the server and remote control it.

I think FileZilla has many security issues, for example you can brute force or buffer overflow the listening server and gain access to the user names & passwords. When you export the sites to file, the default file name is filezilla.xml. The files passwords are encoded in Base64 (at least for me it is) so go to and click decode, the passwords should be there.

Amongst IT security people the general consensus is that FileZilla is a total POS, and WinSCP by design is a much more secure client to use.

Here is some good info. regarding the pitfalls that come with using FileZilla. How do you remotely control the Server - FileZilla Forums

Thanks

i too have same use case like this @CamiCat will you please walkthrough me how you are accessing filezilla with the FTP activities like open ftp connection and how can i get all the files from a folder using Enumerate files in ftp activities why that every activities contains configure connection so i have to give all those credentials to use all the activities ?

I am working on server files temporarily through filezilla in ubuntu 11.10. Sometimes when i close the file from my IDE, filezilla crashes and it does not working properly. If i try to close the filezilla, it does not closes. So, is there any way to close the filezilla through terminal ? Any help kindly appreciated. Thanks.

But, I would focus on the one error we actually see which is the outbound connection failure. I do not have ideas on how that would fail while a sample curl works. Possibly and app-based firewall or some other kind of routing issue with ports or what-not from the filezilla client. Maybe the VM not having the port connected to its host o/s or similar. Did the sample curl run from the same environ as the filezilla client?

The title, the installer for filezilla version 3.66.4 is marked as a pup-optional-bundleinstaller though it has no options for installing anything other than itself and its optional/required dependencies. 0852c4b9a8
