Filer is a bookmark organizer for Chrome. It has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics.
Your bookmarks, folders, notes and settings are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. They never leave your device and are not sent to the developer or any third party.
Tab information (title, URL, favicon of the active tab) is read only to let you save a page, and only when you use the extension.
Page clicks and the Option key: a content script on web pages listens for a click (to auto-close the side panel) and a double-tap of the Option/Alt key (to toggle the panel). Nothing about page content, keystrokes or clicks is recorded or transmitted.
To show site icons, Filer may request favicons from Google's favicon service (https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=<site>). This sends the domain of a saved site to Google. No other external requests are made.
We do not collect, sell, or share personal data, use it for advertising, or load remotely hosted code.
