Measuring 101 Waist
Measure the waist at the smallest point. If you have trouble finding it, tie a piece of elastic around the waist and roll it to the smallest point. On this example, the dress form is set to 26.
Measuring 101 GIRTH
I’ve had a lot of questions about measuring over the past few days, so I’m going to put up a few measuring posts. For all measurements...do not try to measure yourself, and have the skater wear a leotard, dress or cami to do measurements.
To measure girth, place the tape measure on one shoulder. Draw it between the legs and back to the same shoulder. On this example, the dress form is set to a 53 inch girth.
Measuring 101
Shoulder to hip bone.
This measurement is for skirt placement. Start at the shoulder and measure down to the top of the hip bone. If you want the skirt to sit higher or lower, adjust this measurement.
On this example, the skirt is placed at 18
Measuring 101 Bust
This one is pretty easy. Measure around the fullest part of the bust. This example is 33
Measuring 101 skirt length
For the skirt measurement, place the tape measure at the hip bone and measure straight down to the side front to where you would like the hem to sit. This “Dance Length” Dress is 16. For dance length I will also have you give me a back length.
