LEAVE YOUR LEGACY
In 2022, the Ayer Shirley Regional School District has embarked on the first major renovation to the high school campus outdoor playing fields since their establishment in 1964. The centerpiece of the renovation project is a multi sport synthetic turf playing field, complemented by an expanded running track, enlarged fields, and ADA compliant spectator amenities.
The Panther tradition of student success and developing our future leaders spans decades and this renovation will support growing participation in interscholastic activities. Student participants will benefit from modern facilities, expanded capacity on playing fields, and the pride of playing in front of family and friends in a remarkable facility. Spectators will enjoy elevated grandstands and field access, an onsite restroom and concession facility, and modern sound and lighting functionality.
This modern facility will continue to strengthen our school district and become a source of pride for the communities of Ayer and Shirley. Once renovations are complete, the athletic complex will reopen for community exercise use and athletic event rentals, in addition to use by our students for physical education and other educational activities.
The combination of public financing and a generous donation from the Norton Family Foundation has enabled the school district to begin construction on a substantial portion of the project as originally envisioned. There are elements that would fully complete the project that were removed in order to gain voter approval for the project, thus we are embarking on a fundraising campaign to fully complete the athletic fields renovation.
Join other alumni, students, faculty, staff, community members, and friends in showing your Panther Pride and leave your legacy. Your support will benefit the students of the Ayer Shirley Regional School District for years to come. We look forward to inviting all supporters to join us for a grand opening ceremony in the fall of 2022.
