I am Professor of Economics at the University of Alicante.
I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia.
I have held positions at the Public University of Navarra, Royal Holloway University of London and the University of Hull, and adjunct positions at the University of Virginia, Brown University, and the University of Chicago.
Along my career, I have received research funding from the Valencian Community government, the Spanish government, the European Commission, and the Economic and Social Research Council - UKRI.
My research lies within the areas of Economic Growth, Macroeconomic Development, International Trade, and the Economics of Natural Resources.
My current research is related to several topics: natural-resource abundance, pollution, energy transition, public infrastructure, government coordination failures, violent conflict, technology shocks, fiscal policy, natural disasters, export concentration, FDI, and structural transformation.
