Annika Peloski (Dragon Strings)
Annika's dye studio is called Dragon Strings and she has been putting dye to string since 2015. She's a passionate creator with a background in design who is very strong in colour-theory. She was looking to get out of the corporate world and kind of fell into dyeing after taking a class. Annika saw that she could use her background to create yarns that break the mold of "boring" by dyeing one-of-a-kind, funky, inspired yarns that are super awesome to work with and have colours that will knock your socks off! (Even if they are handmade).
Annika does just about everything that has to do with string, from fluff onwards. (She has not gotten any sheep or alpacas and/or learned to shear them...yet). Annika has dabbled in knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, marcrame, knot work, and let's not forget the dream catchers and friendship bracelets of her misspent youth. Annika is mostly a knitter, with favourites being whatever has caught her eye at the moment, but she does produce a staggering number of both hats and socks every year.

Marisa Veri (Pretty Little Yarns Ltd.)
Marisa is the knitter, crocheter, spinner, felter, designer and owner behind Pretty Little Yarns Ltd., Dye Pretty Yarn + Fibre and Felt Pretty. With a background in Interior Design, Marisa has translated her love of problem solving and colour into her passion for the fibre arts.
She has always been drawn to colour, craft, and the handmade. After learning to knit at age 7, it took a few years before the bug really bit her, but in time crochet, hand spinning, wheel spinning, needle felting, and dyeing have all become critical parts of Marisa’s creative expression.

Thamo Hurly (Fibre Magic)
Thamo describes herself as an Intuitive Fibre Artist, letting her instincts rather than strict formulas guide her creations. Without relying on colour wheels or structured art tools, she crafts pieces that resonate with her soul, proving that the best work is often born from passion and intuition.
Whether it's a pattern that can be followed amid the laughter of comedy shows, or a project that lights up her imagination, Thamo's approach to the fibre arts is as refreshing as it is inspirational.

Carolyn Lisle (Periwinkle Dragon Designs)
Carolyn is a former high school teacher with over twenty years of knitting experience. Always eager to learn new techniques and create things no one has seen before with her crafting, she designs colourful and innovative knitting patterns as The Periwinkle Dragon, but — at least, most of the time, as Sock Madness fans can attest — her goal is “easier than they look” so that people can make interesting projects they can be proud of without frustration.
With well over 80 published patterns to date, Carolyn specializes in unique socks, especially (though not exclusively) ones worked toe-up, as well as other fun accessories intended to make beautiful yarn shine, such as shawls, cowls, and hats. Clear and detailed instructions, plenty of helpful resources, and tons of flexible sizing options are the keys to her patterns’ accessibility to a wide range of skill levels.

Andrea Fallone (Fibre at Fern Coordinator / Pine & Purl Fibres)
My name is Andrea Fallone and I'm the Coordinator of Fibre at Fern Retreats. Coordinating this retreat alongside my husband, Dave Fallone, is genuinely one of my favourite parts of my year - it's an honour to put together a weekend that feeds the fibre soul, celebrates fibre craft, and brings together the kind of people that make our community such a beautiful thing.
I'm endlessly inspired by the magic that happens when our fibre-loving community gathers in one place over a weekend. Fibre retreats are true cup-fillers for me - weekends where creativity sparks, laughter is woven through every room, and retreat goers become a close-knit circle of friends by the time the final skeins are packed away.
I'm always amazed by the warmth and welcome this community brings - every retreat feels like a joyful reunion of 'Fernies' who all share in the love of making. Seeing connections blossom and feeling the energy of so many creative hearts in one space is one of my favourite parts of what I do!
I'm also the Owner and Indie Dyer behind Pine & Purl Fibres, where colour and creativity come together one skein at a time. In my dye studio, I create beautifully hand-dyed yarn inspired by things that spark my imagination - quiet forest trails, well-loved books, shifting seasons, pop-culture, and the small everyday moments that make the world feel magical.
Our online yarn shop is home to a growing collection of colourways that celebrate nature, storytelling, and the textures of life. Alongside our yarn, you'll also find our Pine & Purl Project Bags - featuring exclusive designs that are funny, punny, and made to bring a smile to any fibre lover's face. They're the perfect companion for any crafting adventure.
