As an FHS student, you have access to a virtual Dakota County Library card that connects you to all of the resources the public library system has to offer including online one-on-one homework help, research tools, eBooks, audiobooks, electronic magazines, print books, and more. Your virtual Dakota County Library card number can be used online and in public library buildings. It will expire when you graduate from FHS.  Please see specific details about how to access your unique Dakota County Library Student Card number, the apps that will be beneficial to use with your card, and resources you can access with your card that you may not already know about below.

The MackinVIA EBooks Minnesota app gives you unlimited access to thousands of titles from Minnesota's independent publishers, including literature and nonfiction.  

Through the app, you are able to check out and keep these ebooks for as long as you want with no due dates.

With 2GO Kits you can explore virtual reality, learn how to knit or crochet, create your own fashion designs or comics, learn about circuitry, record an oral history interview with your family members, and so much more. 

At Fix-It Clinics, residents bring in clothes and household items to receive free guided assistance from volunteers with repair skills to disassemble, troubleshoot and fix items. Clinics build community connections and reduce the number of repairable objects that are thrown in the trash. 

Mango is a self-paced online language-learning system that teaches actual conversation skills for many different languages including English.  

Work with a volunteer tutor for help with homework assignments in any subject. Open to K–12 students, no appointment necessary. 


Or, access online tutoring for students in grades K-12 and college through HelpNow. HelpNow tutors are available every day from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm. There’s live tutoring, a writing lab, and a language lab, help for creating flashcards and games to help study for tests and the ability to schedule sessions with your friends in a private virtual study room, and more.
