This is a fun award ceremony night to celebrate with all of the band students at FHMS. Bring a date, dress fancy, have fun!

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022 we will take the eligible band students to NRH20 to compete in the NRH20 Music Festival. Students must meet the state of Texas eligibility requirements to attend the festival, which means they must pass ALL CLASSES on their 3rd nine weeks report card. Students who pay admission price but fail a class will still receive a ticket to be used during the summer during normal park operating hours.
NRH20 is located at 9001 26 Blvd, North Richland Hills, TX 76180. We will travel to and from the contest in KISD school buses. Students will arrive at the park when it opens and enjoy a fun day of music and swim time.
Students will be provided a hamburger or hotdog meal for a $7.00 fee (must be paid by April 4). Concessions are COSTLY and this meal is made available at a discount price to those that turn in funds by April 4th. If you choose to bring your own lunch, please submit $22.00 instead of $29.00. Please be aware-----No outside fast-food is allowed –no Subway, no Taco Bell, etc.
Modest swimwear is suggested. We will not be held responsible for any missing items left at the park. We encourage students to obtain a locker if they are bringing valuable belongings to the water park (lockers are an additional $5.00 fee).
Band Itinerary- Beginning Band:
Report to the band hall @ 1:30pm
Load buses @ 1:40pm
Travel to NRH20
Arrive by 2:00pm
Receive ticket by 2:15pm
Enter Park @ 2:20pm
Find group location- put down personal belongings- get ready to perform
Warm - Up 3:00pm
Performance @ 3:20pm
Free time 3:45– 6:45pm
7:00pm Load buses
7:30pm Return back to FHMS

(Students will wear their band shirt and shorts over their bathing suit while performing)
S.O.S. (Sounds of Summer) Middle School Band camp is for band students in current sixth, seventh, or eighth grade
Students who are finishing their first year of band need to sign up for the "INTERMEDIATE BAND."
Students who are completing their second year (or more) on their instrument should sign up for the "ADVANCED BAND."
The faculty of the S.O.S. MS Band camp are local band directors as well as highly qualified and distinguished instructors from neighboring districts.
Students will rehearse together and culminate the week with a concert, performing between three to six full band pieces learned throughout the five-day period.
The cost is $100.00 for a high quality, music filled, five-day camp with T-Shirt souvenir and the fan-favorite-famous-face-saving popsicle break each day! Click the "FAQ" tab at the top for more detailed information regarding payment and registration.
