Wednesday 11th French Conversation Group
This group will be of particular interest to English-speakers who want to improve their French, and to French-speakers who will be able to exchange ideas and points of view on various topics with them, in French.
Meetings normally take place at Michèle Baldwin’s flat.

Thursday 12th Poets Group
Our first meeting after the summer will be on the second Thursday in September as during the previous season, though Dietmar does not have the confirmation from la Mairie, yet. So we'll meet on Thursday 12th September at 3.30pm in room 11 as usual, (to be confirmed) in la MAIRIE DU 6e, 37 Rue Bossuet 69006.

Thursdaty 19th Ciné Group
People who are interested in watching an English speaking and interesting film, one at least, a month should send their address to Georgette in order to be informed as soon as possible!
Our next meeting will be on Thursday September 19th, place and time to be sent later.

Friday 20th LUGDUMEN
In September we will visit the Musée des Confluences on on Friday 20that 2.15 pm. in the main hall near the ticketing office.
Since our visit in November two new exhibitions have been set out:
"Épidémies, prendre soin du vivant", a history of epidemics; "En forêt", stunning photos of wildlife at night.
After the visit we can go to the top floor and have a tea/coffee at Pignol's.
Access: Tram T1, Buses n° 15, 65, C7, C10 "Musée des Confluences". Convenient entrance on the ground level, on the right side of the big stairs.
Entrance fee: full price €12, reduced price €7 with Carte Musées, free access for disabled people and accompanying. The ticket gives access to all the exhibitions.

Friday 27th Book Circle After the summer period we will be happy to meet again for the next book circle on Friday 27th September at 2 pm. The book chosen for September is “Prophet Song” by Paul Lynch, awarded with the Booker Prize 2023. It is a dystopian novel set in a counterfactual Ireland depicted as a country slowly slipping into totalitarianism. As the society collapses a mother attempts to hold her family together…
Furthermore we’ll take time to share about our readings this summer.
Our meeting will take place at La Mairie du 6e, 37, rue Bossuet (back entrance), room 10, 4th floor.
