The members of the Book Circle will gather round on Friday, October 24th to discuss “Things I don’t want to know” by Deborah Levy (2018).
In this part 1 of “Living Autobiography” the author offers a reply to George Orwell’s famous essay “ Why I write”, by depicting a young South African lady coping with a new and hostile world when arriving in England, and whose answer is to write is to exist…

In October we will visit the Maison des Canuts. We'll meet on Tuesday 28th at 3:00 pm at the entrance to buy our tickets (or at 3:15 if you already have booked on line).
We’ll start with a look at the permanent collection and the shop, and we’ll take the guided tour at 3:30. The tour shows the different steps from the silkworm to the weaving and includes a demo on a genuine Jacquard loom. Duration : 50 min.
