We’ll talk about “The summer without men” an American novel by Siri Hustvedt (2011).
Mia Fredrickson a wry and tragic comic poet narrator has been forced to reexamine her own life after thirty years of marriage as her husband has asked her for a “pause”.
The whole story is meant to illustrate the various stages of womanhood and the way to face changes in life. Beyond that the author leads us to question the part played by comedy and tragedy in individual stories , “A comedy depends on stopping the story at exactly the right moment."
