Foundations for Farming International
The year started off with a bang and following a collaborative visit to Madagascar by Chuck and Craig, 31 participants were chosen to attend a seven-day training in Zimbabwe. Among these were high end office bearers from Madagascar, students, and green title farmers. Four DRC nationals also attended this French speaking training. Blaise and Rosine from Rwanda assisted with the training. And it was a joy to have Handre representing Crown with us. In-spite of having arrived during the early hours of the day, Craig started the event by bringing participants to the reality that they have come to meet Jesus. He explained that Foundations for farming is founded on Jesus and how it is our desire to multiply the character of Jesus in the world. The energy of the group was amazing from the start to finish, taking every opportunity they got to sing praises to God. It was a training with a difference as it ended with a foot washing ceremony showing mutual willingness to serve between the two countries in as far as God's purposes are concerned.
They were commissioned to go and freely practise what they had learnt and urged to faithfully start small while praying for God's multiplication. Craig spoke about the need to change this session from putting boots on to taking boots off and allowing FfF to humbly serve them (feet washing ceremony).
Taking authority on our land
Foot washing
This annual training had representatives from nine countries, namely United States of America, The Netherlands, Ghana, Liberia, Eswatini, Malawi, New Zealand, Mozambique, and Zambia. The group consisted of pastors, missionaries and a few farmers. It was evident from their stories, that most of the people they are working with are a hurting people struggling to feed themselves. The main expectation was to learn practical skills so they could improve the livelihoods of the poor in their communities but were overcome by the way that all the teaching was intertwined with the word of God.
