Our programmes and activities are in and outdoor sports physical exercise activities and healthy cooking and craft learning programmes run during term time. We inspire people from diverse ethnic background, people of all age and ability enabling them to participate in daily and weekly routine activities aimed at improving physical health and mental wellbeing, increasing social engagement and reducing isolation and loneliness up to 40 people access our activities 4 times a week.
Every two weeks we organise sport fun day activity for families at our local parks welcoming people living in the local community and those visiting. We engage our older adults in sports and craft activities three days a week We create space for our elderly to participate in physical exercise activities to stay active and fit, stay warm, interact and make friends, they engage in craft and art, Walks and dance to health activities to help them stay active, reduce isolation and socialise .
We organise other activities focused on enabling women, particularly marginalised new and old migrant women in our community to help them learn and gain confidence in English speaking, and to support them towards achieving their future aspiration. We engage in Healthy Cook & Bake Class, Sewing and Craft class to increase knowledge, skills, and increase independence to enable these women better support their children and families. We share some of our healthy cooking post on our social media platform that people may access for tips to help them improve their eating behaviour and to eat healthy.
During festive seasons we organise events to celebrate what matters to people in our community, events to celebrate Christmas, Valentine’s day, Mother's day, Easter, children's day, Eid, Women's day, Father's day, Summer family fun-fare, National Day celebration etc. We believe these celebrations help advance our cultural heritage, customs and traditions as people identify with their community and culture when they participate in events that showcase their history and cultural backgrounds.
Through the years we have organised several festive celebration and historic celebration to include Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Jubilee, King Charles III and Queen Camilla coronation amongst many other celebrations, we do our best to get the people in our community to be part of historic celebrations and learn about culture, embrace the diverse culture and people in our community. Most of our events are attended by people living and visiting our community and they look forward to these events which have become popular within the local community thanks to BVSC through Common Wealth games legacy fund our activities has become popular in our community.
