We are embedded within the local community of Newtown an urban area that lacks green space, heavily populated with people from diverse ethnic background, an area classed as multiple deprivation area (Data National statistic). Our organisation was formed during the pandemic when we all collectively experienced challenges, which we set up on a formal basis to help respond to.
We are promoting Healthy behaviours; actions individuals can take to positively influence their wellbeing and help maintain or enhance their health. These behaviours range from simple daily routines to more complex lifestyle choices. They include aspects like heathy eating, regular exercise, sufficient sleep, and avoiding harmful substance like tobacco and alcohol.
Research has proven that engaging in healthy behaviours can significantly reduce the risk of chronic diseases, improve mental health and contribute to overall physical and mental wellbeing, the people we support feedback the changes they are experiencing and impact it has on their wellbeing.
