Though there is no one treatment for festival flu, drinking plenty of fluids, getting lots of rest and taking over-the-counter medications to relieve symptoms is a good place to start. If symptoms worsen or last longer than a week, you may need to consult your healthcare provider.

The festival prides itself in finding and promoting the new talent of the independent film world, now in its new home on the marina in the beautiful coastal town of Bangor (Northern Ireland). With its stunning surroundings, and ease of access by train or bus services, our new location puts you right on the doorstep of some beautiful coastal walks and scenery - yet still only 20 minutes from Belfast City Centre.

Yellow Fever has been one of the best festivals I've ever entered. George and Kenny are amazing people. Our films have found an audience abroad with YFIFF and its the most bang for your buck of just about any festival out there. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

In the midst of a pandemic when so many festivals were struggling, Yellow Fever were a pure joy. Their communication was second to none and we were delighted to be included in their fantastic official selection. Luke Christian winning the Mike Leeder Award for Best performance was the icing on the cake. The festival feels like a true celebration of indie filmmaking and we wouldn't hesitate to submit again. Shame the physical event couldn't go ahead - there's always next year!

Starting up a new beer festival is a tough task, but the Cabin Fever Craft Beer Festival mastered it with aplomb last Saturday. This big, wintertime festival made a very strong debut with smooth operations and a sell-out crowd of 1,300 in Morgantown, WV.

She started from scratch, researching the idea for a solid year before making her move. She selected the February date because it would not conflict with other festivals, and she hoped more brewers might be able to participate. She always had in mind featuring West Virginia breweries, and as planning went on, she decided to limit it to only West Virginia breweries.

By limiting it to West Virginia breweries, however, the festival greatly limited the universe of beers that it could offer. That seemed risky. With the festival signing up only 11 breweries to participate, you had to wonder, going in, if that would be enough to attract and satisfy the often fickle craft beer crowd, who are known for seeking the latest-greatest brews. Additionally, most breweries were bringing no more than four beers to the festival.

After a slow start to ticket sales, things began to pick up as the festival date neared. Then, a large walk-up crowd packed the house on Saturday. Even competing with a noon-start WVU basketball game, which had an announced attendance of over 14,000, Cabin Fever still had a big line of folks waiting outside for the doors of Mylan Park Community Center to open at noon. The crowd continued to build for about the next three hours, peaking around 3:30. The place was packed until the beers started running out in late in the day.

Beyond beer, a wide variety of food, craft and other vendors took a chance on the new festival and were not disappointed. Food sales were brisk and probably could have used a few more vendors. Products from homebrew supplies, t-shirts and dog treats to peanuts and candles all seemed to be selling.

John Cooper, along with rowdy Red Dirt cohort Mike McClure and his drummer Eric Hansen, climbed aboard for a scenic helicopter ride. They cruised high over the Country Fever festival crowds just north of Pryor.

The Great Exhibition Road Festival happened over the weekend and what a festival it was! Thousands of visitors came to South Kensington for this two-day celebration of science and the arts. Researchers from the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Group and the Centre for Bio-Inspired Technology in Electronic Engineering, joined the jamboree in the Malaria Zone in what was one of the best exhibits of the festival.

Festival-goers then helped the team use the Lacewing diagnostic device which is an innovative technology being developed to help better diagnose infections such as malaria, dengue, Ebola, and drug-resistant superbugs. This was where the fun began as festival-goers took blood in a syringe and drop the sample on the diagnostic chip of the Lacewing device. The Lacewing device analysed the blood and produced results indicating the type of infection in the blood.

The Lacewing device as festival-goers were shown, allowed the results to be shared immediately via Bluetooth to the smartphone. All data is uploaded to a database and tagged with location and time information. This immediate data-share would for example, help public health authorities monitor cases in real time and use the information to plan intervention campaigns during infection outbreaks.

Enjoy his hour long Cabin Fever Festival performance below, we hope you love it as much as we did! Keep your eyes peeled on HIHF for more uploads from the festival, we will be bringing you more as the weeks go on.

Quincy, Calif. celebrates Groundhog Fever Day at the Plumas County Courthouse grounds. The fever has taken the area by storm ever since Punxsutawney Phil's supposed cousin, "Chuck Wood" made his appearance at Quincy Courthouse steps several years at the ago on Groundhog Day. Chuck didn't see his shadow when he popped out at the Groundhog Fever Festival, thus signifying an early onset of spring. James Wilson and Johnny Mansell (left photo) trace Chuck's colorful history before the critter made his appearance.

Quincy Revival Committee launched the festival with much fervor. It includes a chili cook-off, Wine & Beer Tasting, a date auction, Shadow Shuffle, Mustache Contest, Firetruck Lift Rides, Ice Sculpting and a Kids Zone.

The festival, which will be held Jan. 26 and 27, highlights films made by Loudoun County residents. This year, festival organizers are adding a screening for youth films which will be held Friday, Jan. 26 beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Highlighting films made by Loudoun County residents, local filmmakers are invited to submit films for the festival. It is co-hosted by the Franklin Park Performing and Visual Arts Center and the Town of Purcellville Arts Council.

Please note that while we promote this as a family film festival, these films are not rated. We will add information in the film descriptions about sensitive material so audiences can make informed choices.

Charles Halka, composerPerformed by Alarm Will SoundLive at the Mizzou International Composers Festival, July 27, 2019Notes by the composer:I was always skeptical of claims that a work of art came to its creator in a dream. Shortly after I found out I'd be writing a piece for Alarm Will Sound, I came down with probably the worst cold I've ever had. It was a stubborn virus that lingered in full force for more than three weeks, and I spent a significant portion of that time in bed with a fever. It would have been nice if "Fever Dream" had come to me clearly as a fully-developed work of music, but the dreams I had while sweating and coughing through this monster didn't feature a fully-developed *anything*. Images and events swirled together in a nonsensical haze, and I was left in a constant state of restlessness. During most of the night, I never even really knew whether I was asleep or awake. There were a few consistencies, however. My constant drifts in and out of sleep were dominated by an overwhelming and oppressive feeling I was trapped in some kind of heavy, viscous ooze that minimized my every movement. The more I struggled, the more it weighted me down. When that feeling would finally subside (after what seemed to be the entire night), I would surface in a rush hour of unrelated images that fluttered by to the sound and feeling of very rapid pulsing. The chaos always ended in a train wreck-like catastrophe that jolted me awake, the fever temporarily lifting by the pulsing still persisting, like some king of post-jackhammering phantom terror. It was during those waking ("waking") moment I tried in vain to piece together any specific recollection of the bewildering and disorienting night.
