Thinking about an opulent room for vampires and goth sims to study all 15 levels of Vampire lore, we got inspired to create this Library. But since, we can not ignore technology, there's also a computer and a stereo, just in case they want to plug in ^^ by SIMcredibledesigns.com

I noticed that the in-game sims, Bella Goth, and Bob Pancakes, etc, don't exist in my game anymore. I wanted to move them into their empty houses, but I can't find them. They aren't in my library, or in the gallery. Do you know how to find them, and save them, townies and the like, so that they can be in world?

I figured it out. I had to google the original Sim 4 families, found it on wiki. Then search for them in community. Search harder for the originals. Then save to library. Then open CAS, then open gallery, then click the household, and replace the random sim with the new household. Then either click the checkmark and play, or click the folder, to save to the personal library. After that, go to manage world (if you clicked play) or household management (if you clicked the folder). Then choose a lot, move-in, then evict.

The history of the Goth family dates back to a woman named Lady Ravendancer Goth, who is immortalized as the author of Lady Ravendancer Goth's Book O' Spells, found in The Sims 3's Gothique Library in Sunset Valley. It was an addition thought to have been placed there by the early Goth family who built the library when they settled in the town. Magic has been linked with the Goth family ever since.

He then explains why he started his library. As the scion of a wealthy manufacturing family, Leitner lived a youth without struggle or need, but he always felt a calling to make something of himself. His one talent was finding and purchasing rare and valuable objects. Soon enough, he encountered his first of the books, The Stalwart Hunters' Almanac, following the violent death of its previous owner. Shortly afterwards, he hired his first assistant, Albert Stross, who barely lasted a fortnight.

Leitner's collection of these books continued to expand and he found that finding them was surprisingly easy. When he began encountering problems with storing certain books in close proximity to one another, he looked to the architecture of Robert Smirke for a solution and commissioned a house to be built upon his principles to allow for safe storage. At its height, his library held 978 books of varying types in the building's complex and bizarre architecture.

A few years later his library was assaulted. It began with strange people visiting and asking to see his collections. Soon after, the library was attacked by various entities, forcing Leitner to flee and resulting in the library being burned to the ground. Ever since, he has been on the run.

During the research process, I had to send Ryder to the library several times to use the computers there since the Haunted Cottage is off-grid. One day, he got a phone call while at the library and it made me squint.

At the time I was playing Bloodborne feverishly on PS4. It is a really inspiring and meticulously crafted game. The environment art and levels are beyond exceptional. I have always had a thing for libraries, so naturally, the Cainhurst area really stuck with me, especially its grandiose library. I knew I wanted to do something with the elements of gothic, medieval, and fantasy. We had a defined time frame in which the scene should be produced so I opted for a smaller scene which could be completed in a few months.

One of the first tasks I had concerning the library was breaking down the interior into sizeable modules. I went through all the images of the Manchester library I could find on the internet, also using archive footage and several documentaries online to see a video walk through the interior. Video footage helps even better to see and feel the chunks, nooks, and crannies of an architectural space that you just can not see in one image. I listed and defined all of the possible modules, their respective materials, and details. This whole process was backed up with paying attention to gothic architecture references. Besides the modules that come directly from the Manchester library, I also used some pieces from other examples of English Gothic architecture, using vaults, corners and some window details from other period pieces.

Lighting in the scene went through a lot of iterations. I knew from the start that I wanted the place to be dark and gloomy but to also have highlights of candlelight that catch the viewers attention. First came a light blue directional light which was to mimic the moonlight. The interior was made very dark from the start with individual point light being added gradually to liven up the scene. The point lights are combined with several light meshes. The individual candles, candelabra and wall lights all got a light source of its own in their own separate blueprints. This time I used blueprints to have more control over the whole scene, changing simultaneously the properties of light in all of the linked assets. The light assets were then scattered around the scene to not only highlight the architecture but also to get a sense of place being used. The candles were completely made in polygons, with the fire being animated and textured through the material editor. The flame flickering was achieved using the vertex world displacement with mathematical nodes in the editor like a sine wave and the panner. To finish things up, volumetric fog and dust particles were added to give the place the feel of an old dusty library.

Lately I've received several messages that in different forms expressed the same request. Some ppl asked to share my elven El family [ presumably they are unaware of the existence of my FAQ, which states that I don't share my story sims ]. Some thought that I should find and share the nameless elves I created for @lazysunjade centuries ago [ believe me, even if I had a time machine that let me travel to such a distant past - I would have found a better use for it ]. To me the most inspiring and interesting suggestions were the ones where anons ask if I can make some other elves for them to download. And since today it's my birthday, I thought I might actually do so at this occasion.

Honestly, I'm a total dumb when it comes to packing sims, and if my goddess hadn't kindly agreed to help me, I never would have shared any elves at all. But praise be the sweetness and patience of @plazasims, for now we can welcome some shareable elves!
