XVI TALGO Innovation Prize was awarded to Dr. Joaquín Irazábal's PhD Thesis “Numerical analysis of railway ballast behaviour using the Discrete Element Method”, of which I was unofficial co-director.
Dr. Javier San Mauro’s PhD Thesis (2018), titled “Wedge-Shaped Block Spillway Design”, was awarded the González Cruz Prize for the best PhD thesis in hydraulic and dam engineering at the Technical University of Madrid. I was unofficial supervisor of this PhD Thesis.
