FermentFlow transforms traditional fermentation recipes into interactive "flows" - guided projects that walk you through each step of your fermentation. Each recipe becomes a personalized timeline with reminders for actions like kneading bread, checking fermentation progress, or knowing when your sauerkraut is ready to taste.
Recipe-to-flow conversion
Recipe specific notifications
Photo documentation
Flow or reminder notes
Progress tracking
Ingredient tracking
FermentFlow sends you recipe-specific notifications based on your active flows. Each notification gives you options like snoozing, repeating the reminder duration, going to the project, taking a photo for that reminder, and mark the reminder as complete.
You can also add notes to individual reminders to track observations, changes, or important details about that specific step.
Make sure notifications are enabled in your iPhone Settings > FermentFlow > Notifications for the best experience.
Absolutely! Photography and note-taking are core features of FermentFlow. You can take photos at any step of your fermentation flow, whether triggered by a reminder notification or manually within your active flow.
Your photos are stored with your project, creating a visual timeline of your fermentation progress. Additionally, you can add notes to your flows and reminders to document observations, recipe modifications, or important details about each step.
Starting a new flow is simple:
Browse the recipe library.
Select your desired recipe from the list.
Tap "Start Recipe Flow" to begin your fermentation flow.
Track ingredients and follow the reminders to stay on track.
Flows are customized to the timing and requirements of a specific fermentation project, with built-in ingredient tracking to help you stay organized.
Yes! FermentFlow is designed to handle multiple concurrent fermentation projects. You might have bread rising, sauerkraut fermenting, and kombucha brewing all at the same time.
Each flow operates independently with its own timeline, reminders, notes, and ingredient tracking. The app keeps track of all your active projects and sends recipe-specific notifications for each one's unique requirements.
If you're missing notifications, try these troubleshooting steps:
Check iPhone Settings > Notifications > FermentFlow - ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled
Verify "Badges," "Sounds," and "Banners" are turned on
Make sure "Do Not Disturb" isn't blocking app notifications
Restart the FermentFlow app
If issues persist, try restarting your iPhone
Timely notifications are crucial for successful fermentation, so don't hesitate to contact support if problems continue.
To Complete: When you're finished with a fermentation flow, tap "Complete Flow" to move it from your active "Flows" to "Completed." Completed flows have some functionality disabled, while maintaining access to all the flow's data, notes, photos, timestamps, etc.
Note: Completed flows cannot be moved back to active status, and archived flows cannot be recovered. Make sure to save any photos or notes you want to keep before archiving.
To Archive: If enabled in Settings > Allow archiving, you can archive a flow from within the app's settings. This will permanently delete the flow.
For technical issues, try these steps in order:
Force close the app and reopen it
Restart your iPhone by holding power + volume buttons
Check for app updates in the App Store
Update iOS if a newer version is available
Free up storage space - fermentation photos and notes can use significant space
If problems persist, please contact support with your iPhone model , iOS version, app version (located in settings) for personalized assistance.
