Research Interests

The Feng Yan Lab research interests focus on electronics/photonics materials and devices. The interaction among electron, photon, spin, and lattices provide unique techniques to harvest, convert and store renewable energy. A better understanding of the microstructure and properties of the material creates pathways to improve the performance of the device further. With the emergence of new materials with desired physical and chemical properties, a series of new architectural devices can be achieved. Next-generation devices with higher efficiency and lower cost are achievable by tuning the materials structure, interface quality, and defects level. New materials and devices with optimized properties are desired to realize a sustainable energy future.
