Jodi Brunner discovered Feng Shui in the early '90s, leading on a quest to uncover the secrets of this mystical art and science.
Since 1995, Jodi has engaged in every facet of Feng Shui, serving as a consultant, author, speaker, teacher, owner of a retail Feng Shui shop, importer/exporter of Feng Shui products, and as a tour operator specializing in Feng Shui.
Starting in Melbourne's Chinatown, Jodi collaborated with the Chinese Museum to regularly offer her distinctive Feng Shui tours, attracting strong attention from the media (@fengshuimastertv). From 2007 to 2017, Jodi also led seven incredible Feng Shui tours to Hong Kong and China with her colleagues and students.
Jodi has advised an extensive list of residential and commercial clientele on a wide range of small and large projects in Australia and internationally. Significant commercial clients include Government Agencies, Hospitals and Health Care facilities, Banks, Hotel Chains, Spa Complexes, multi-storey residential and commercial retail.
Jodi has consulted on special projects such as the Australian Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010; City of Melbourne Chinatown Revitalisation Project, 206 Bourke Street Mall, Marianna Hardwick Emporium, Saville on Russell, Grant Hyatt and Langham Hotel's award-winning Chuan Spa and Administrative offices.
Healthcare facilities include Ekera Medical Suites Box Hill, Japara Glen Waverley and several other specialty retirement homes and villages.
Internationally, Jodi's clients include Oriental Express Hotel Kyoto, Ryugon Ryokan, Hiiragi Restaurant, Guilin Travel Co. Ltd., Shanghai Special Equipment P/L, Tasty Hygge Floral Arts, and a very interesting client in Japan who needed to dig a water well.
Jodi has been featured in print media, radio interviews, and television. She has been a regular contributor to Wellbeing Magazine and Easy Feng Shui Magazine, as well as Feng Shui magazines in Russia, Lithuania, and the UK, The Asian Executive in Australia, and various other media outlets such as The Age, Herald-sun and Japan Times (New York Times).
As a speaker at international and industry conferences (AFSC, IFSA, FSSUK, Int'l Global Yijing Hierophants), Jodi has led workshops and courses in Australia, Los Angeles, Panama, Canada, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, Israel, London, Hong Kong, China and Japan. Jodi ran 8 annual events to packed audiences at Crown Casino, Melbourne, publishing annual Feng Shui charts since 2007 and conducting live online sessions since 2002.
Jodi is the author of a concise and accessible series of little books on Amazon, originally published in Singapore, which include Feng Shui Tips for the Environment, Home, Business, and Garden, and also 20 Ways to Use Mirrors in Feng Shui, originally printed by Anjian Australia.
For an extended period, Jodi held the exclusive rights to distribute Master Joseph Yu’s Luo Pan, a Feng Shui compass used to ascertain a building's orientation. She also wrote a book titled History, Use and Care of Your Feng Shui Luo Pan, with input from her peers at the Feng Shui Research Centre.
More recently, Jodi has innovated a new design which is in the research phase that promises to revolutionize global use of the Luo Pan.
Association of Feng Shui Consultants Int'l
From 2010 to 2014, Jodi served as the second President of the Association of Feng Shui Consultants International (AFSC), where she introduced to the industry:
- new membership tiers,
- a comprehensive membership website,
- the AFSC® Excellence Awards,
- the concept of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
As president, she regularly convened with leaders from the International Feng Shui Guild (IFSG - USA) and the Feng Shui Society of the UK (FSSUK) to address industry issues and standards, which led to the creation of the Global Feng Shui Alliance. One day Jodi hopes that Feng Shui will be recognised as a legitimate environmental profession, not relegated to 'parapsychology' in the Dewey Decimal library classification system.
Throughout her presidency at the AFSC, Jodi facilitated the merger of the FSN and AFSC memberships and contributed the FSN's collection of newsletters and conference videos to the AFSC's archives.
FENG SHUI network
Between 1998 and 2008, Jodi reached out to the Feng Shui community to establish the first online international Feng Shui network, catering to those interested in Feng Shui and environmental issues. Members collectively worked towards the global promotion of Feng Shui, and during this period, Jodi formed numerous lifelong friendships and professional relationships.
Throughout that decade, Jodi hosted several Annual Conferences, featuring both local and international speakers, many of whom remain active in the Feng Shui community.
The FSN boasted highly effective marketing campaigns and an esteemed online directory of consultants, achieving the number one ranking on search engines and producing a quarterly newsletter entitled 'Sacred Space'.
Feng Shui Research Centre
Since 1998, Jodi has studied at Master Joseph Yu's Feng Shui Research Centre and is certified in Xuan Kong Fei Xing, Xuan Kong Da Gua, Advanced Feng Shui Water Methods and Four Pillars of Destiny Analysis (Ba Zi) and various other methods.
To pursue these studies, Jodi made several trips to Toronto, Canada, and hosted Master Yu in Australia on multiple occasions. In 2005 Jodi was entitled 'Master of Feng Shui' by Master Yu.
Since 2002, Jodi has been instructing the prestigious Feng Shui Professional Course at the Feng Shui Research Centre and developed her own courses to supplement the professional training.
Jodi has dedicated herself to the study of Feng Shui at the FSRC. Students, friends and colleagues at the FSRC organised several committees and many projects:
- developing new courses,
- (particularly Mian Xiang - Face Reading),
- marketing strategies and ideas,
- social media contributions,
- strategic planning.
From 2005 to 2010, Jodi studied in Australia, Canada, South America, Hong Kong, and Barcelona, with a Chinese master in Mian Xiang, the art of Face Reading.
Jodi received a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Feng Shui and Geomancy in 1995 and a Higher Diploma from Master Joseph Yu in 2002.
In 2011, Jodi earned a Diploma of Retail Management from the Australian Retailer’s Association, aiding her in adapting ancient Feng Shui principles to contemporary retail settings, including her own business, Feng Shui Cures & Crystals, for which she sourced Feng Shui products directly from Chinese factories for 15 years.
In 2014, Jodi was honoured with the Lord Mayor's commendation for her 15-year contribution to the City of Melbourne's dynamic business community.
Subsequently, having the same year, sensed impending changes, Jodi decided to sell her beloved and prosperous retail store Feng Shui Cures & Crystals, along with its assets, wholesale operations, and substantial online presence.
Jodi acquired a restaurant in Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort, Japan, in 2015, which she completely refurbished according to Feng Shui principles. With a business visa, she operated the restaurant during the winter ski season for seven years.
Since 2022 Jodi has returned to Australia and has been travelling and living as a 'luxury nomad' in her fully off-grid caravan.
